5 WINTER MAKE UP & SKIN CARE MUST DO'S

16/12/2017

My 5 Wintry Make up & Skin Care Must do’s:

1. EXTRA EXTRA

Winter hits and our skin becomes in danger of getting dry. With the heating on full blast, hot baths and cold winds, our skin takes on an awful lot of temperature change which can lead to a dry, dull complexion- If not looked after properly!

To avoid this, I recommend simply adding an extra layer to your moisturizing routine morning or night.. or even both! For example, this extra layer could be a facial oil to compliment your moisturizer or a hydrating serum.

2. MASK IT

Winter months mean PARTY months. Which is all fun and games until we break out from all the sugary cocktails and wearing more make up than usual.

Try using a detoxifying mask once a week to rejuvenate your complexion after those late nights.

Favourites:

Decleor Aroma Cleanse Clay and Herbal Mask and EVELOM Rescue Mask

3. TIS THE SEASON TO SPARKLE

Why not go a little adventurous with your make up and try out a little bit of sparkle or glitz for the festive season.

Try adding a ‘spotlight’ glitter effect to your eye make up.

‘Spotlight’ is the term for adding a little bit of glitter up to the center of your lid (preferably over a smokey eye look). It brightens your eyes and twinkles when you look down- Simple yet beautifully effective!

Here is an example of a similar look I have done. The glitter used was MAC ‘Reflects Gold’

4. FESTIVE REDS

Give a red lip a go this Christmas and feel festive! I prefer a deep warmer red in winter, something with a burgundy undertone-

Favourites:

MAC ‘Beatrix’, Bobbi Brown ‘Hollywood Red, Urban Decay ‘Sancho’

5. GLOWING GOLD

A warm golden finish to your base will go fabulously with your warm red lip and twinkly eyes.

Try adding a radiance boosting primer to your make up or finishing your complexion make up with a glowing highlighter. Or do both with my favourite duo:

BECCA ‘Backlight priming filter’ and ‘Shimmer skin perfector highlighter’

- Use the Primer underneath your foundation to give illumination to your base and the perfecting highlighter to sculpt and define your cheek bones.

Have a fabulous Christmas,
